In 1989 ACT established the Industry Advisory Council (IAC) to bring industry and government executives together to exchange information, support professional development, improve communications, and build partnership and trust, thereby enhancing government’s ability to serve the nation. ACT and IAC work together to provide an objective, professional and ethical forum where government and industry leaders can collaborate on addressing common issues towards a shared vision.

The Texas Association of HUBs (Historically Underutilized Businesses) is where HUBs from across the state, representing all industries, join together to promote HUB utilization and maintain a voice with both the Legislature and Texas Building and Procurement Commission (TBPC) on issues affecting HUBs.

Mission: To advocate the maximum utilization of Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUBs) by Texas Government Offices, Institutions and Agencies. Also to provide assistance to and promote networking among HUBs and Stakeholders.

Texas Association of State Systems for Computing and Communications (TASSCC)…

The mission of the Texas Association of State Systems for Computing and Communications (TASSCC) is to advance education and networking among Texas public sector IT professionals.

More than 30 years ago, the Texas Association of Counties was formed to represent county interests in the legislative process and inform counties of issues that affected them. Since, TAC services have expanded to meet the growing needs of counties.

The mission of the Texas Association of Counties is to provide services to Texas counties and assistance to all county officials.

Breast Cancer Research Fund…

The chance of a woman having invasive breast cancer some time during her life is about 1 in 8. The chance of dying from breast cancer is about 1 in 35. Breast cancer death rates are going down. This is probably the result of finding the cancer earlier and improved treatment. There are a number of good charities that support the fight against breast cancer. The Breast Cancer Research Fund’s mission is to achieve prevention and a cure for breast cancer in our lifetime by providing critical funding for innovative clinical and genetic research at leading medical centers worldwide, and increasing public awareness about good breast health. A minimum of 85 cents of every dollar goes to research and awareness programs. This is way higher than some of the higher profile organizations.

So Others May Eat (SOME)…

No one in the United States should be faced with homelessness or starvation. SOME is an interfaith, community-based organization that exists to help the poor and homeless of our nation’s capital. They meet peoples’ immediate daily needs of food, clothing, and health care. They help break the cycle of homelessness by offering services, such as affordable housing, job training, addiction treatment, and counseling, to the poor, the elderly and individuals with mental illness. Each day, SOME is restoring hope and dignity one person at a time. They are continually recognized for the excellent stewardship of funds donated to them.

Disabled American Veterans (DAV)…

Our country asks brave individuals to serve in our military, some of them become disabled. We all have a responsibility to support these individuals. DAV seeks to build better lives for American Veterans.
